Joanna joined the gym!
- We first started off with cardio, which could be the elliptical, treadmill or whatever. I started off with a 5 minute speedwalk on the treadmill as my warmup.
- My trainer then proceeded to work my legs, and this includes my calves, hamstrings, quadriceps and more. We first did some squats, which are excellent to work out your legs and butt! Some good advice that I was given is to lean in more on your heels rather than your toes when going down, and not letting your knees get past your toes!
- We then did some fast paced lunges, switching legs per lunge.
- Another exercise I found helpful (and most difficult for me) was burpees, where you start in a squat position to then kick out your legs to situate yourself in a push-up position, bring legs back to squat position and then jumping up in the air.
- For abs, we started with Russian Twists, in which you sit in an upright position and twist your torso from left to right, reaching and putting a medicine ball on each side of the floor.
- The simplest ab exercise is laying on your back and lifting your legs together as high as they can go, then slowly placing them back down.
- The last and final exercise that is great for abs is a PLANK. Try to go for at least 30 seconds! you can really feel your abs tighten.
I hope to upload a video showing you guys how to do these because they are really helpful and a set of each every other day will definitely show!
Smoothies
Hi, ya’ll!
Yesterday I had a crazy day at the gym. I ran, biked, then worked on my legs. Prom season’s approaching, ladies, and we need to be prepared.
But today, I’m having trouble motivating myself to get to the gym. We all have this problem, if you don’t please teach us your ways.
To compensate for being so lazy, I’ve been trying to eat right. My mom has been begging us to eat the fruit in the fridge, so I made it into a smoothie!
These fancy smoothie recipes I’ve reblogged don’t have to be followed to a T. Just put your favorite fruit, some ice, and some fruit juice in a blender, mix, and enjoy!
Keep it real,
Amanda
